Calling this a food truck festival is somewhat underselling this event. Yes, there will be food trucks, over 25 of them, bringing you food from Sri Lanka, Greece, Tibet, Philadelphia, Hungary, Mexico... you get the idea. A truly global food offering! But alongside that, there's so much more:
- A Harley Davidson meet up
- A bouncy castle for the kids
- An alpaca hike
- Live bands, including afternoon concerts especially for children
- A stone tossing competition
And did we mention that entrance is totally free?
Of course, there's also several drinks stalls to wet your whistle, and a covered seating area to shade yourself from the sun or to keep you dry in the unlucky event that it rains.

Social responsibility
The festival is also aware of the problems that food festivals can cause with wasted food. It's inevitable that the trucks will have perfectly good food left over at the end, and no one likes to see food thrown away. That's why they have teamed up with Restessbar Solothurn, who collect good but unused food from stores and restaurants and then distribute it for free.

Planning your trip
The festival takes place on the Schanzenplatz, behind the Rythalle. Parking is limited in the town centre, so we recommend using public transport to get there. It's a 10-minute walk from Solothurn main train station, and the bus stop Solothurn Baseltor is right next to the Rythalle. You can find out exactly what is happening when on the event website.
