This position includes overall strategic and operational responsibility for Emerald’s marketing and communications function. You will be reporting to the CEO and are responsible for the following tasks:

  • Execute on brand identity including brand guidelines, tone of voice, audience personas, style guide, visual identity, and collateral development
  • Development of effective marketing content and digital assets such as press releases, publications, videos and podcasts, social, email and web content etc.
  • Development of investor fundraising materials
  • Management of website
  • Production of own events and management of third-party event sponsoring
  • Marketing systems management including contact data, email and marketing automation systems, analytics and other enabling marketing tools
  • Plan and implement comprehensive product-specific marketing strategies that engage Emerald’s audience and supports its organizational strategy and goals
  • Build and manage Emerald’s content and editorial calendar that optimizes our news and is tailored to our innovation ecosystem audience of multinational corporations, investors, startups, and influencers within our industry focus areas
  • Improve and maintain efficient and effective lead generation processes and lead nurture activities via engaging thought-leadership, marketing campaigns and content optimization
  • Be a reliable, approachable, and collaborative business partner with Emerald’s thought leaders so the organization’s ideas and value can be communicated effectively to our global audience
  • Management of marketing suppliers including technology providers, contractors and agencies
  • Lead and further develop a small marketing team

 Required skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of b2b marketing experience within a venture capital/ private equity, research or consulting firm. Experience in marketing to the innovation ecosystem is a must.
  • Proven ability in both developing and implementing marketing strategies that have measurably delivered to business growth and organizational goals. The role will require you to work both strategically and operate efficiently. 
  • Experience in collaborating with industry thought leaders to develop engaging and high performing b2b content is a must
  • Experience in utilizing latest digital tools and processes to maximize marketing efficiency
  • A strong editorial mindset that seeks to ensure our published content is consistently of a high quality and engaging for our targeted audience
  • Fluent in English (preferably native English speaker)
