Which are the best companies to work for in Switzerland in 2025? A new study has revealed the answer!

Best employers survey, now in its seventh year

The “Best Employers” survey, now in its seventh year, is the result of a cooperation between the Handelzeitung, PMA, and Statista. For the study, 15.000 workers at more than 1.500 companies with at least 200 employees were asked if they would recommend their own employer to other people, on a scale from 0 (“I would definitely not recommend”) to 10 (“I would definitely recommend”).

These ratings were then combined with the company’s rating from the previous year to produce an overall score out of 10 for each employer.

Mobiliar named Switzerland’s best employer

In 2025, the ranking is topped by Mobiliar, an insurance company based in Bern. It was awarded the top spot thanks to a company culture that is “human, close and responsible”, according to Handelszeitung, and the fact that its employees enjoy working there.

“Mobiliar operates in a crisis-resistant environment and guarantees jobs,” Handelszeitung adds. “This environment is also valued by others: the entire insurance industry may not be considered particularly sexy, but it also shines in uncertain times.”

Top 10 companies to work for in Switzerland in 2025

The top 10 is primarily composed of traditionally Swiss companies with local roots and products with a “high Swissness factor”, according to Handelzeitung. This includes two Swiss watchmakers, two railway companies, drinks manufacturer Rivella, and Delica, the Migros subsidiary that produces popular Swiss brands like Risoletto, Chocolat Frey and Blévita.

The top 10 employers in Switzerland, according to the Handelszeitung, are:

  1. Mobiliar - Insurance and health insurance
  2. Delica - Food and beverage manufacturer
  3. Rhätische Bahn - Transport and logistics
  4. Zurich - Insurance and health insurance
  5. Rivella - Food and beverage manufacturer
  6. Breitling - Watchmaker
  7. BLS - Transport and logistics
  8. Rolex - Watchmaker
  9. Sanitas - Insurance and health insurance
  10. UCB Farchim - Pharmaceuticals
