Thinking of switching jobs in Switzerland, but aren’t sure which firm to pursue? To help job seekers along, a new ranking has revealed the best employers in the country, based on reviews from their own employees.

The Best Workplaces survey in Switzerland

As its name suggests, the Best Workplaces survey from Great Place to Work seeks to reveal the best companies to work for in Switzerland. In a departure from other best employer rankings, awards are given to companies based on survey responses given anonymously by their own staff.

41.183 employees from 280 different companies in Switzerland and Liechtenstein were asked 60 different questions about how satisfied they were with work. In all, awards were given to 75 different firms across the country, ranging from “micro” businesses right up to large, international companies.

Speaking to Watson, Great Place to Work consultant Michael Hermann noted that being a top employer doesn’t just mean offering a high salary. According to the data, even companies that pay lower wages can be rated highly if they provide job security, fairness and a strong sense of community and belonging.

Which are the best companies to work for in Switzerland?

For 2025, Hilti was named the best large employer in Switzerland. The manufacturer was well-liked by its staff, with 94 percent of its employees saying it is a great place to work. Stryker Switzerland, a healthcare and medicine provider, took second place, with DHL Express Switzerland and Cisco Systems rounding out the top four.

When it came to medium-sized companies (those who employ 100 to 249 workers in Switzerland), it was the hotel chain Hilton which took the top spot in 2025. The brand, which operates 8.300 hotels and over 1,25 million rooms in 138 countries, was rated highly by 89 percent of survey respondents. Rotkreuz-based biotech company Amgen took second, with ServiceNow Switzerland completing the podium.

Moving downward, telecommunications subsidiary Orange Business was the best company with 50 to 99 employees, local council and municipal sector consulting company Steinmann & Partner was the best firm with 20 to 49 workers, and Deciphera Pharmaceuticals completed the top spots as the best company with 10 to 19 employees.
