Are you looking for a job in Switzerland? Although some companies are scaling back their recruitment efforts, there are still many more that are actively hiring. Here’s an overview of where in Switzerland the most jobs are on offer, and the sectors that are most in-demand.

Unemployment rising in Switzerland, but some sectors recruiting

After years of record-high employment rates, unemployment in Switzerland is starting to rise again, the result of the weak European economy and the impact of US tariffs. Many companies are responding to the situation by adjusting their recruitment rates.

As 20 Minuten reports, there are significant regional differences in the number of advertised positions in Switzerland. According to x28, the highest number of open jobs is in Canton Zug, where there are 44,95 vacancies per 1.000 residents. This is followed by the cantons of Obwalden (33,66) and Lucerne (32,07). There are fewer vacancies in Canton Ticino (4,64), Vaud (9,76) and Jura (10,11).

There are also big differences between different industries. The report found that, currently, the most open positions are for nursing staff and electricians.
