Snow sculptures in Grindelwald
The event is in a world-famous scenic location - Grindelwald in the picturesque mountainous Jungfrau region in Canton Bern. It's situated in the Bernese Alps, at 1.034 metres above sea level! Since the event is held in the mountains, this year's theme is mountains.
Artists work on their spectacular sculptures over the five days of the festival, and the public can both view the finished works and watch the sculptors in action. Artists consist of teams from 10 different countries, and in total, 12 sculptures are made. Sculptures are judged by both the jury as well as the public, on various criteria, such as originality, skill and topic.
