About this role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking a Project Adviser for the Lao PDR Building Opportunities for Sustainable Trade (BOOST) project. The project aims to strengthen public-private sector coordination, capacitate companies to meet international standards, and address trade regulation gaps.

Responsibilities

The Project Adviser will be responsible for project implementation, monitoring, and reporting, including:

  • Organizing project activities such as training programs and workshops.
  • Providing technical and logistical support to ensure timely delivery of project interventions.
  • Maintaining project workplans, schedules, and activity trackers.
  • Coordinating communication among stakeholders and providing technical guidance to partners.
  • Leading result monitoring and analysis, including data collection and reporting to ITC HQ.
  • Developing and improving monitoring mechanisms, tools, and templates.
  • Preparing impact stories and progress reports based on project evidence.
  • Contributing to risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Serving as a focal point for partner and client relationship management.
  • Supporting project governance, including the organization of Project Review Committee meetings.

Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Trade, Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted.
  • Experience: A minimum of seven years of experience in result-based project management, monitoring, evaluation, or administration. Experience in Lao PDR and in trade-related technical assistance is required. Experience working with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and implementing EU projects is desirable.
  • Languages: Advanced knowledge of English and knowledge of Lao are required.
