National Consultant / Project Coordinator, Jordan
About this role
The Making Trade Happen (MTH) project, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implemented by the International Trade Centre (ITC), supports Jordanian businesses in strengthening export competitiveness, improving market linkages with the United Kingdom, and advancing a more enabling environment for services trade. ITC seeks to recruit a National Project Coordinator to support day-to-day coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and operational facilitation across all components of the MTH project.
Duties and Responsibilities
The National Project Coordinator (NPC) will be responsible for the effective day-to-day coordination and delivery of the MTH project in Jordan. Responsibilities include:
- Stakeholder Engagement and Institutional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with key national institutions, organize bilateral stakeholder meetings, coordinate with institutions involved in trade-in-services data and regulatory reform, and support validation workshops and public-private dialogues.
- SME Mobilization, Selection, and Advisory Support: Disseminate calls for applications, mobilize SMEs, verify baseline data, define selection criteria, segment SMEs into support tracks, and facilitate orientation sessions.
- Technical Delivery Coordination and SME Engagement: Monitor technical assistance delivery, liaise with trainers, track SME progress, and maintain a results matrix.
- Logistics, Trade Fair Preparation, and Market Linkages: Coordinate logistical arrangements for trainings and workshops, and support the shortlisting of SMEs for trade fairs.
- Monitoring, Reporting, and Project Planning: Update the national workplan, attend weekly coordination calls, and prepare monthly presentations, quarterly progress reports, and an annual report.
Qualifications and Special Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, trade, development, international relations, or a related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination, SME support, or donor-funded programmes in Jordan.
- Proven experience in working with government entities, chambers, and private sector associations.
- Strong familiarity with SME advisory services, public-private dialogue, or export development projects.
- Experience in coordinating training, workshops, and technical missions.
- Strong organizational, planning, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaborative project tools.
Languages
Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required.
