The Experience
The Industry Advisor, Consumer Goods (CG), is a growing part of the Sales and Solutions organisation at Salesforce. In this role, you will serve as a visionary and strategic partner to our most ambitious customers — acting as the connective tissue between sales teams, product development, and the customer to ensure Salesforce solutions are tailored to solve the most pressing challenges in the Consumer Goods landscape, from supply chain volatility to shifting consumer loyalty.
We are looking for an Industry Advisor who brings deep domain expertise across the Retail and Consumer Goods sector, a compelling executive presence, and the ability to translate complex industry trends into clear, actionable Salesforce strategies.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, helping them define their digital roadmap and demonstrating how Salesforce — including Data Cloud, Agentforce, and Consumer Goods Cloud — can drive measurable return on investment (ROI).
- Develop and evangelise points of view (POVs) on industry trends such as autonomous retail, AI-driven personalisation, and omnichannel excellence, while enabling internal sales and solution engineering teams on Consumer Goods-specific pain points, terminology, and competitive landscapes.
- Partner with Sales Leadership to identify high-growth opportunities across Consumer Goods sub-verticals including Grocery, Apparel, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), and Beauty — converting strategy into account plans and tailored solution messaging.
- Lead discovery workshops and executive briefings, translating complex business requirements into value-based strategies, and building long-term relationships with prospective and current C-level executives to support their transformation journeys.
You're Our Person If...
- You have 10 or more years of experience within the Retail or Consumer Goods sector, either in a leadership role at Director or Vice President level at a brand, or as a senior strategic consultant with a proven track record of advising on large-scale digital transformation projects.
- You have a strong understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem — specifically Consumer Goods Cloud, Commerce Cloud, and Data Cloud — and can build business cases and quantify the value of technology investments for Consumer Goods brands.
- You are an exceptional storyteller and presenter, comfortable commanding a room of senior executives and simplifying complex technology into clear business outcomes, with the ability to create thought leadership content and presentation material independently.
- You are a proven team player who leads through influence, with demonstrated success operating in a matrixed environment and aligning cross-functional stakeholders around a shared vision.
Even Better If...
- You have experience with Agentforce or autonomous AI agent strategy in a retail or Consumer Goods context, and deep knowledge of Consumer Goods-specific flows such as Route-to-Market, Trade Promotion Management (TPM), and Retail Execution.
- You have an existing network of relationships with key stakeholders in the Retail and Consumer Goods industry, and membership or an active position in leading industry associations such as the National Retail Federation (NRF) or Consumer Goods Forum.
