IPX Engineer IP at our HQ in Bern

Salary: CHF 80'000 - 110'000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a university degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a comparable field, with a very good understanding of IP networks and protocols.
• We require at least 5 years of professional experience in operating carrier-grade IP networks.
• We require experience working with Cisco and Arista routers and switches, as well as firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• We require deep knowledge of IP networking protocols and technologies, including BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, QoS, and DNS.
• We require familiarity with network security principles and practices.
• We value knowledge of LTE/GSM mobile network technologies and the roaming industry as a plus.
• We require strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
• We require fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
• We require willingness to work in Bern, Switzerland.
• We can consider Swiss and EU nationals, as well as holders of a valid Swiss work permit.

Responsibilities:

• We operate, maintain, and develop our IPX transport services and systems.
• We implement and manage IP transport access links to our IPX, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and technical support for our customers and peers.
• We improve the IP access infrastructure supporting our IPX services to ensure reliable performance and scalability.
• We proactively monitor our IP access network and manage capacity to maintain optimal performance and prevent service issues.
• We troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
• We provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.
