Facilities Engineer – Building Safety & Fire Safety (m/f/d)
About this role
For our client, a highly dynamic, large pharmaceutical drug product manufacturing site based in Schaffhausen, we are looking for a motivated and proactive Facilities Engineer – Building Safety & Fire Safety (m/f/d).
Start: ASAP
Duration: Temporary contract for 12 months (Initial contract until the end of the year, with a planned extension to cover the full 12-month duration)
Actual End Date: 31.05.2027
Workplace: Schaffhausen, Switzerland
Workload: 80–100%
Project Management: Plan, execute, and ensure the safe delivery of building safety and fire safety projects (e.g., sprinkler upgrades, safety hardware upgrades).
Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all fire protection and building safety topics across the manufacturing site.
Compliance & Audits: Support safety inspections, official audits, and professional interactions with regulatory authorities.
Risk & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive risk assessments, safety documentation, and relevant training materials.
Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate required maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs for safety systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within a matrix organization, partnering closely with EHS, Engineering, and Operations teams.
Academic Background: University/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related technical field.
Work Experience: Generally requires 4–6 years of relevant work experience; prior exposure to building or fire safety projects is highly preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments is a distinct advantage.
Technical Skills: Strong technical understanding combined with a proactive willingness to continuously learn and adapt.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate a cross-functional environment.
Language Skills: Fluency in German (main working language) and very good communication skills in English are required.
