About this role

For our client, an international company based in Schaffhausen, we are looking for a motivated, results-oriented, and highly skilled R&D Associate Engineer (m/f/d).



 

General Information
  • Start: As soon as possible / By agreement

  • Duration: 1 year

  • Workplace: Schaffhausen

  • Workload: 100%

  • Remote/Home Office: Hybrid – Onsite position with the option for up to 20% remote work.




     

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Product Engineering Support: Execute assigned product development tasks and design optimizations for the existing product portfolio by applying strong technical knowledge. Identify technical problems and actively contribute to effective solutions.

  • Design & Concept Development: Develop innovative design concepts to address assigned tasks. Ensure manufacturing-ready design of components (such as plastic, stamped, and bended parts) in close collaboration with relevant departments and product teams.

  • Innovation & Creativity: Identify, propose, and implement innovative technology developments and solutions. Bring your own creative ideas to the table to advance low-voltage products and systems.

  • Collaboration & Project Support: Collaborate proactively with cross-functional project and product teams to integrate and implement design solutions smoothly.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Meticulously document engineering work steps and actively participate in creating technical written reports for the department.




     

Qualifications
  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in a relevant engineering field.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge in the design of plastic components as well as stamped/bended parts. Ideal candidates will also have foundational technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in low-voltage products.

  • Design & Tools Mastery: Proficient in using CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).

  • Mindset & Working Style: High degree of self-motivation, a quick learner, and a results-oriented approach with a positive, proactive attitude. Demonstrated technical competence within your own area of responsibility.

  • Language Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate comfortably in both written and spoken English and German. Excellent English-only speakers with the right technical background will also be considered.
