Development Engineer (m/f/d)
About this role
For our client, an international diagnostics company based in Rotkreuz, we are looking for a motivated, analytical, and proactive Development Engineer (m/f/d).
You will join an R&D Development & Integration team, contributing directly to the design, workflow development, and optimization of next-generation blood gas analysis prototypes used in critical care environments (ER, ICU, and OR).

Remote/Home Office: Hybrid – Home office is possible when project and lab schedules allow.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Workflow Development: Develop and optimize fluid control workflows for new near-patient testing analyzer systems.
Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate complex technical issues surrounding the control of blood and calibration fluids, performing root-cause analysis and proposing design improvements.
Data Analysis Tools: Create and implement data analysis tools to evaluate and monitor system performance.
Experimental Design: Design and execute specialized experiments to thoroughly assess specific system performance metrics.
System Integration: Prepare, configure, and operate prototype analyzers within the blood laboratory environment.
Qualifications
Academic Background: Master’s degree (MSc) in an Engineering field such as Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanics, Fluidics, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of industry or research experience, or a proven track record in workflow development for blood gas analyzers.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of complex system interactions, systems engineering principles, and proficiency in Python for advanced data analysis. Knowledge of C++ is a distinct advantage.
Analytical Mindset: A persistent, detail-oriented "problem-solver" who excels at structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Documentation Skills: Strong ability to generate highly structured technical documentation, specifications, and written investigation reports.
Interpersonal & Networking Skills: Self-reliant and proactive, with excellent networking skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers and scientists.
Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; knowledge of German is a strong asset.
