A new report from Michael Page has revealed which jobs in Switzerland are set to offer the highest salaries in 2025. The recruitment agency found that those in banking and human resources can expect the largest pay packets this year, with some roles earning over 400.000 francs.

Which jobs have seen the biggest wage rises?

To create the ranking, Micheal Page used its database of 415.000 candidates to analyse the average wages of 585 different jobs in 15 different industries. They then used this to rank the best-paid jobs in Switzerland, that don’t fulfil the role of CEO.

In the report, the company noted that many workers have seen the numbers on their payslips rise in the last 12 months. The biggest increases were reported in the metal trading industry, where staff salaries rose by an average of 25 percent. Micheal Page explained that ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply chain issues mean metal and commodity traders can make significantly higher profits.

Tax lawyers (20 percent), and sales managers who speak more than one language (18 percent) also saw excellent new salaries written into their work contracts last year. The report attributed these rises to the fact that there is an acute shortage of specialist lawyers in Switzerland and a hope among companies that good salespeople will help cushion profits should the economy turn sour.

Other industries that have seen wage rises of over 10 percent in the last 12 months include finance firms, insurance providers and pension funds.

Which job is the highest paid in Switzerland?

For 2025, the Head of Private Banking is the highest-paid job in Switzerland which isn’t a CEO. The top manager of the jet set’s finances can expect to earn a stunning 500.000 francs a year.

The boss of bosses was followed by CIOs at Swiss banks and the CFOs of international companies, which are paid an average of 450.000 francs a year. The Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources at large firms rounded out the podium with wages 400.000 francs a year.

The highest wages in Switzerland for 2025

In all, here are the highest-paying roles in Switzerland for 2025 (in francs a year):

  1. Head of Private Banking (Finance, 500.000 francs)
  2. Chief Investment Officer, Chief Financial Officer (Finance / Multinational, 450.000 francs)
  3. Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer (Multinational, 400.000 francs)
  4. Chief Operating Officer (Finance, 360.000 francs)
  5. Managing Director, Investment Banking, Vice President of Financial Control, Site Manager, Head of Regulatory Affairs & Quality Management, Chief Information Officer, Legal Counsel (350.000 francs)

Looking ahead, Micheal Page wrote that with inflation in Switzerland back below 1 percent and the global economy set to slow, the era of large wage rises is over for now. However, Micheal Page Managing Director Yannick Coulange told 20 Minuten that there is still a “strong demand for candidates who can help overcome business challenges” and reduce running costs.
