Feldschlösschen, a well-loved Swiss beer company, has announced that it is halting deliveries to Swiss supermarkets Denner and Migrolino, owned by Migros Group, amidst a pricing dispute.
Popular Swiss beer deliveries paused
Beer drinkers looking for their favourite Swiss beer, Feldschlösschen, may struggle to find it in stores over the coming weeks. The Rheinfelden-based beer company has announced that it is pausing deliveries to Denner and Migrolino, according to Watson.
“We have decided to temporarily suspend our product deliveries to the Migros Group,” said head of communications at Feldschlösschen, Gaby Gerber. Other Carlsberg Group products may also be affected, including 1664, Grimbergen, Guinness, Schneider, Weisse and Super Bock.
Feldschlösschen and Migros disagree over pricing
The halt in deliveries is due to “failed price negotiations” between the two companies, reports Blick. In some cases, "retailers often resort to temporary delisting and order freezes of branded products to increase pressure on their suppliers.”
Both Denner and the Aargau brewery have assured customers that they are “working together on a viable solution” and, according to a Denner spokesperson, the supermarket is “confident that we will soon be able to offer our usual selection again at fair prices."
