On Zurich's Long Night of Museums, you can explore a different side to over 50 museums, galleries and institutions as they open their doors until 2am, with talks, games and activities planned through the night.

Zurich's Long Night of Museums (Langenacht Zuerich)

With just one ticket, you can explore dozens of the incredible museums of Zurich into the early hours of the morning on Zurich's Long Night of Museums. Museums taking part range from the FIFA Museum for the football-mad to Zurich Zoo for animal lovers. History buffs will feel at home at the Archaeological Collection of Zurich while kids will enjoy letting their inner artist out at the interactive Kunsthaus Zurich studio.

With a programme that is filterable by museum, interest and type of event, you will easily find something that interests you. There are also audio tours you can download and listen to as you explore various museums, in case you'd rather do things at your own pace. Many of the tours are available in English.

It's easy to make the most of your ticket as a free shuttle bus is running through the night to take you between museums. If you want to visit some of the museums further around the lake, you can even take the MS Sentosa boat out there for free!

Kids at the museum

It might be a late-night event, but with many activities starting at 6pm, there is plenty for kids to do too. Those younger than 17 years of age can take part in Zurich's Long Night of Museums for free, and there is a lot on the programme for them. To pick out just a couple, at the Swiss Heritage Centre they can create their own dragon mask, while older kids might enjoy learning how to do Chinese Paper art at the Ethnography Museum.
