Get ready for the exhibition Landschaft (Landscape) by the Swiss artist Roman Signer at the Kunsthaus Zurich. The exhibition is running from early April until mid-August.
Roman Signer, a master of transformation
Roman Signer is known as a "master of transformation", working over the past 50 years in innovative ways and in many forms. His art installations are renowned across the world, exploring themes such as nature and its effects and the notions of coincidence and poetic moments.

Born in Appenzell in the Swiss Alps, Roman Signer studied art in Switzerland and Poland, graduating from art academies in each of the two countries in the 1970s. His installations often involve everyday objects such as canoes, umbrellas or buckets, embedded in a landscape or an urban space. He notably enacts "experiments" such as explosions, collisions and projections of objects in the air.
Therefore, his artworks themselves are often not for public viewing but are shown in their documented form through film and photography. His work does not usually take place in a studio, and that's why this exhibition is like taking a long walk and discovering things as you go!
His work has been exhibited in prestigious events and festivals such as the Venice Biennale and Documenta, and often shows a humorous take on cause and effect, and the videos of his experiments are visually compelling.
