Immerse yourself in Japanese culture this February. From video games to anime, karaoke to martial arts - the Japan Impact convention in Lausanne is a fun outing for the whole family!

Discover a passion for Japanese culture

Japan Impact is a cultural event that aims to introduce Japanese culture to French-speaking Switzerland. The weekend is filled with loads of activities that will excite enthusiasts and spark a passion for Japanese culture in others.

During the two days of the convention, you can enjoy cultural workshops, cosplay contests, concerts, conferences, screenings of Japanese movies and animated series, martial arts demonstrations and browse various stalls where you can buy yourself a souvenir or some delicious Japanese food such as moshi doughnuts or gyoza.

Contests at Japan Impact

What’s more fun than a dress-up contest? During the Japan Impact convention, there are cosplay contests where individuals can embody their favourite characters.

There is also a Kawaii contest where participants dress up in Lolita, Decora and Fairy Kei style clothes, and they show off their talents to win over the judges. If you don’t want to dress up yourself, you can still watch the contests and admire the many costumes.

Fans of K-pop and J-pop can also watch and cheer the contestants in the idol contest. Performing their best solo and group covers, contestants go all out to wow the audience and judges.

Concert Programme 2025

These are the acts performing during the Japan Impact convention:

  • Buta Otome
  • Etsuko Chida
  • Hance
  • Iron Attack
  • Natsumi Yuzu
  • Remi Taiko
  • Saturday Evening Concert
  • Show Yosakoi - Komainu Yosakoi Lyon
