After a period of snow and rain, spring-like sunshine is set to arrive in Switzerland this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 15 degrees celsius.

Snow to be replaced with sun in Switzerland

After the rain and snow comes some spring-like sunshine as temperatures are expected to reach 15 degrees celsius in parts of Switzerland this weekend, reports Nau.

Friday, February 20 will continue to be cloudy and wet, particularly in the northern parts of the Swiss mountains. The snow line will be between 700 and 1.000 metres. Temperatures in Swiss cities will be between 5 and 10 degrees.

Spring comes to Switzerland this weekend

This weekend is when Switzerland could see a shift from winter to a snippet of spring. On Saturday, there could still be a chance of rain but it will be interspersed with sunny spells. Temperatures could jump to between 10 and 13 degrees in Zurich, Bern, Basel and Geneva

The sun is expected to continue shining on Sunday, with cities warming up to around 14 degrees, even 15 degrees, in some parts. If you’re looking for a higher chance of warmer weather then head south to Ticino.

The change in weather marks quite the contrast with earlier in the week, when the second-highest avalanche alert was issued across much of the alpine nation following heavy snow, and a rare level five danger warning was in place in Valais.
