Junior Buyer (Capex)

For our client, an international company based in Visp, we are looking for a Junior Buyer (Capex).


 

The Junior Buyer (Capex) supports the execution of capital expenditure procurement activities within assigned projects and operational buying scopes. This role focuses on operational procurement execution, supplier coordination, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes while working under the guidance of senior procurement leadership to support large-scale industrial investments.

Tasks & Responsibilities

 

• Operational Procurement Execution: Supporting end-to-end operational buying activities for Capex projects, from requisition to purchase order (PO) issuance and final close-out.

• SAP Management: Preparing and issuing purchase orders in SAP in alignment with approved sourcing decisions; tracking order confirmations, deliveries, and invoice alignment.

• Sourcing & RFQ Support: Assisting in RFQ processes, including data collection, bid comparison, and documentation. Supporting senior buyers in supplier communications regarding pricing and delivery.

• Project & Stakeholder Support: Acting as the procurement contact for defined work packages within Capex projects, coordinating closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Finance.

• Tracking & Compliance: Supporting schedule adherence and cost tracking at the order level while ensuring all activities meet strict procurement policies, GMP, and EHS requirements.

• Supplier Coordination: Communicating with suppliers on order execution topics and maintaining transparent, auditable sourcing documentation and records.
  
  
  
   

Qualifications

 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

• Experience: Initial experience in procurement, supply chain, or operational buying. Prior exposure to technical, engineering, or Capex environments is a distinct advantage.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SAP is preferred. Familiarity with Capex-specific procurement workflows is highly valued.

• Soft Skills: A structured and detail-oriented working style with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.

• Mindset: A strong learning mindset with the willingness to develop professional procurement capabilities under the guidance of Lead Buyers.

• Languages: Fluent English is required. German is strongly preferred for effective interaction with local stakeholders.
