Jan studied History at the University of York and Broadcast Journalism at the University of Sheffield. Though born in York, Jan has lived most of his life in Zurich and has worked as a journalist, writer and editor since 2016.

Now, the latest ad promoting autumn in the alpine nation has called on the acting talents of Hollywood star Mads Mikkelsen - along with the return of an oh-so-familiar face.

The new ad from Switzerland Tourism casts Mikkelsen, an award-winning star best known for his role as Le Chiffre in the James Bond film Casino Royale, as a bonafide tree hugger more content to immerse himself in all that autumn in Switzerland has to offer than get on with the ad.
Taking to the mountains of Canton Graubünden, the star is pictured walking barefoot in the forest, hugging larch trees and making friends with the local cows. Take a look:
