Now, a brand new Selfie Hotel has popped up in Zurich, offering creative backgrounds to help visitors put the me in memento.
Having proved a hit in Zurich in 2020 and Lausanne in 2021, the so-called Selfie Hotel has now made its grand return to the Swiss metropolis. Set to be open for six months, the hotel on Füsslistrasse 6 allows everyone to capture their likeness in weird and wonderful rooms and settings.
"The Selfie Hotel is aimed at everyone who wants to immerse themselves in a colourful world for a few hours," co-founder Isabelle Newson told 20 Minuten. She added that they hoped to give visitors an opportunity to take interesting photos of themselves.
“No filter” is needed for these pictures to be stunners, with the hotel featuring several colourful and interesting backgrounds and rooms to choose from. “Each backdrop is designed to offer the ultimate selfie experience – photos that impress and spark the imagination,” the hotel writes on its website.
You don’t have to be a big name on the internet or photography whizz either, with Newson adding that “all of our selfie spots are so well lit that even non-influencers can easily take cool photos." The last time the selfie hotel visited Zurich, the hotel garnered 16.400 visitors in just three months. The tasteful snaps they took are estimated to have been viewed by 1,2 million people worldwide.
Those who wish to attend the Selfie Hotel are advised to book online, with tickets costing around 24 francs per adult for a 90-minute time slot. Want to confuse your followers with a costume change? The facility also features a changing room.
