Lugano PasSteggia Food and Wine Walk
Lugano PasSteggia Food and Wine Walk
You can enjoy the best of Swiss scenery and food at the Lugano PasSteggia. Take a beautiful walk from Lugano through the Swiss canton of Ticino, and taste delicious local treats at eight different rest points along the way.
Lugano PasSteggia
The Lugano PasSteggia combines a walking tour with a food festival to great acclaim. Now on its 12th edition, the festival is extremely popular in the region.
At 8.30am, people start to gather at the LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura on Piazza Bernardino Luini. Every 15 minutes until 10.30am, groups of up to 50 people set off on their food and wine walk from Lugano through neighbouring villages and along stunning Alpine paths. Various stops along the way will ply them with local food and wine, and musicians will entertain them for the duration of their rest. And the best news? You can take part too!
The event is open to all with good mobility, noting that the paths include both asphalt and dirt tracks, with a couple of steep climbs. The route is just over 10km in total, so while children are welcome, make sure they will be able to walk that far.
The circular goes through the village of Sorengo, around the lake at Muzzano, and on to Paradiso before returning to Lugano.
