Swiss Post has revealed that it delivered a record 23 million parcels in Switzerland between Black Friday and Christmas in 2025. A new facility will be built in 2026 to ensure the postal service can meet growing demand.
Swiss Post delivered 23 million packages in run-up to Christmas
Swiss Post, the national postal service in Switzerland, has announced in a press release that it delivered 23 million packages between Black Friday in late November and Christmas in December 2025. This was 3,1 percent more compared to 2024, when around 22,3 million packages were delivered during the same period.
The busiest day for Swiss Post workers was December 2, when 1,3 million parcels were sorted and delivered across the country in time for the holidays.
Swiss Post thanked its employees for their hard work during one of the busiest times of the year: “Our employees are the heart of Swiss Post. Day after day, they demonstrate great commitment, especially during the pre-Christmas season,” said Swiss Post CEO Pascal Grieder.
New post facility needed to meet demand in 2026
The postal delivery service also announced that it is building a new parcel centre in Frauenfeld in 2026. The facility will create around 200 new jobs in the canton of Thurgau.
The company will also renovate and modernise centres in Härkingen and Daillens to “process parcels efficiently and provide its employees with modern workplaces”. The upgrades and new centre come at a time when online shopping is increasing in Switzerland, and more and more people are sending and receiving post.
