About the job:

The Research & Development Services team leads the management of R&D laboratories and associated equipment to ensure the safety, compliance and smooth operations of local R&D laboratories.

The Lab Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of our BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and overseeing the stocking of common consumables.

Your Profile:

• Proven experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment, physically fit, and willing to regularly lift heavy waste bins and work with potentially infectious biological material.
• Proficient in both German and English (min B2 level) and demonstrate strong skills in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Manages, oversees, and executes the following in their assigned BSL1 & BSL2
• Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan
• Waste management, including collection and disposal
• Lab coat management, including adequate supply, collection, and
• cleaning.
• Operation and monitoring of dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves
• Maintaining a stock of common lab consumables
• Pipettes calibration support
• Participates in the on-call services for the CTU excursion
• Dry ice area cleaning

Must Haves:

Willingness to work in the following conditions:

• Physical requirements include standing, bending, and lifting heavy waste bins
• Regular work with potentially infectious biological material
• German – B2 and English B2 Level
• Proficient with MS Excel and Google suite

Soft Skills:

• Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player, self organized and motivated individual.
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Nice to Have:

• Hep B vaccination (Can also be provided by the client)
• Relevant experience in a cleaner or laboratory environment.

Not required:

• BSc, MSc, PhD degrees
