How you’ll make a difference

  • Advise and implement practices to ensure a consistent level of company performance concerning legal, tax, employment and corporate matters, with a focus on Specialized’s retail, distribution network and suppliers
  • Support the Regional Legal Counsel Europe in all legal, organizational, and administrative issues throughout the Europe region
  • Handle, negotiate, and draft high level commercial agreements, corporate agreements and other (international, intellectual property, supply, distribution, marketing etc.) agreements for Specialized’s European business
  • Provide legal support for structuring, negotiating and documenting M&A transactions in Europe, including NDAs, term sheets, due diligence documentation, signing, closing in relation with share or assets purchase deals, and assist with the integration of acquired entities. You will be part of the relevant M&A project teams, work with all internal stakeholders involved (Legal, Controlling, Tax, HR, IT, Sales) and coordinate and steer outside counsel
  • Investigate and analyze factual situations and problem solve at a high level, including negotiation of resolution in conjunction with leaders
  • Mentor and advise teammates on legal matters at a strategic and tactical level across a broad range of topics
  • Proactively manage a broad range of matters (corporate, contracts, finance, marketing, commercial, international, intellectual property, litigation, tax, distribution, e-commerce) as a trusted advisor and business partner across all levels of the organization’s European business
  • Manage special projects

What you need to win

  • 4 to 6 years of corporate legal experience, including relevant working experience in M&A, corporate law as well as drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide variety of commercial agreements and issues (including in connection with retailers and distributors) in an international environment
  • Qualified to practice law in the European region (bar admission)
  • A combination of law firm experience and in-house experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong team player with organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as good judgment
  • Detail-oriented, quick learner, and able to set and juggle priorities while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Independent and proactive way of working paired with a high level of self-motivation to perform duties with a high level of professionalism
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Capacity to cultivate strong client relationships and successfully influence teammates in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Ability to drive legal strategies for the company and independently initiate new assignments and identify ways to improve process and operations
  • Ability to multitask effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally (Europe, USA)
  • Fluent in both English and German (written and spoken), other European languages are a plus
