Migros same-day deliveries coming to Zurich in 2026

Migros has announced that it plans to introduce same-day deliveries for online grocery orders, scheduled to begin in early 2026. The delivery option will initially be available to customers in Zurich.

Migros same-day delivery slots coming to Zurich in spring

From spring 2026, supermarket shoppers in the greater Zurich area will be able to choose a same-day delivery slot when ordering groceries online via Migros. Currently, most orders placed online before 12am can be delivered the following day. 

Around 250.000 people frequently order online from Migros, and, according to Watson, the demand for online grocery shopping has been increasing in Switzerland. In 2023, the online grocery market generated 724 million Swiss francs, setting a new record.

Coop, a competing Swiss supermarket, already offers some options for same-day deliveries if orders are placed before a certain time of day, typically around 12pm.

Migros to open new distribution centre in Regensdorf

A new Migros distribution centre in Regensdorf, just north of Zurich, is set to begin operating in spring 2026. The centre is needed to meet the expected increase in orders generated by the expanded delivery service.

The centre will utilise semi-automated processes and a close proximity to Zurich to “significantly reduce delivery times”, according to a Migros spokesperson.

The new centre will also expand storage to include 21.000 items and will be able to process around 7.500 orders per day. With the new centre and expanded delivery, Migros wants to “remain the preferred choice for online shopping in the coming years,” the spokesperson continued.
