Quai du Mont-Blanc, 1201 Geneva

Lace-up your running shoes and prepare for the 7th edition of the annual Balexert Run in Geneva. With scenic views of the mountains and Lake Geneva, all the blood, sweat and tears accumulated during the race will be worth it.

A race with great views of Geneva

Every November, thousands of people gather for the Balexert Run in Geneva for the opportunity to get moving and explore the Swiss city at the same time. Starting and finishing at the Quai du Mont-Blanc, the route of the race runs alongside the lake, goes through the vineyards and countryside of the right bank of Geneva, and even runs near Geneva Airport.

Choose your distance and race type

This year, the race has six distance options with 10km and 20km for adults, 500m, 1km and 2km for kids and 400m for mascots! There are also different race formats including relay, running alone, walking and Nordic walking. All of the race options run at different times on the same day.

Things to do for runners and spectators

Spectators are welcome to cheer on their family and friends and can join in on the post-race enjoyment too. While the day's main focus will be the races, at the finish line the village will be set up and made open to the public. The village is a temporary fair after the race where exhibitors await with surprises for everyone and food trucks will be ready to refuel runners and spectators with something to eat and drink.

If you want to make a day of it, you could observe the race from the sidelines and plan some visits to historical sites and other attractions while in the area.
