Trains will be disrupted between Zurich Airport and Zurich Oerlikon for 2 weeks

Travellers, commuters, and residents alike should expect delays on train services between Zurich Airport (Flughafen) and Zurich Oerlikon for the next two weeks. Maintenance work starts February 6 and will last until February 23.
Train delays between Zurich Oerlikon and Zurich Airport
SBB has announced in a press release that it will be carrying out maintenance on the train tracks connecting Zurich Airport and Zurich Oerlikon from Friday, February 6 at 11.25pm until Monday, February 23 at 5.20am. Passengers travelling on this route should expect delays and cancellations.
There are over 200 tracks connecting Zurich Oerlikon and Zurich Airport, and SBB carries out maintenance works to “ensure trains continue to arrive safely and on time”.
Which train routes are impacted?
The EC long-distance trains connecting Switzerland’s largest city with Munich, Germany, the IC5, the IC8/81 and the IR/RE75 will not stop at Zurich Airport during this time and will be diverted.
The IR36 trains between Zurich Oerlikon and Zurich Airport will be cancelled in both directions. The IR16 2155 running from Zurich HB to Zurich Airport will also be cancelled. Passengers wishing to travel to and from the airport in Zurich should plan for longer travel times.
From February 6 at 11.40pm to February 9 at 5.20am, tracks at Zurich Airport will be closed and the S24 trains between Zurich Oerlikon and Zurich Airport will not run in both directions.
SBB advises potential public transport users to check the SBB timetable online or via the SBB Mobile app before travelling.
