Laytime & Operations Specialist

Zinc/Copper Department

Baar, Switzerland

We are seeking a Laytime and Operations Specialist for our Zinc/ Copper Department at our

Headquarters in Baar, Switzerland who will be responsible for supporting in preparing, reviewing and

finalising laytime and operational processes.

Main tasks and responsabilities:

  • Preparing, reviewing and finalizing laytime and demurrage calculations.

  • Monitoring and following up on pending laytime files and unsettled claims.

  • Managing freight and demurrage invoicing administration; issuance and settlement.

  • Analysing Charter Party terms, voyage documentation and operational events to support claims.

  • Communicating directly with the relevant stakeholders (Owners, Broker, Agents, Ports, etc.).

  • Daily contact with the Trading and Traffic Teams in Baar and the field offices worldwide.

  • Maintaining accurate documentation filing per internal audit and compliance standards.

  • Playing a significant role in enhancing operational processes and ensuring data integrity.

Qualifications:

  • A sound educational background (commercial apprenticeship or bachelor).

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience with laytime and demurrage calculations in dry bulk and/ or tanker shipping.

  • Solid understanding of shipping operations, terminal procedures, and Charter Party terms.

  • Experienced in MS Office usage and advanced user in IMOS.

  • Well-versed in English (writing and speaking), and familiarity with additional languages is beneficial.
