We have a new opening to become a member of the Lead Generation team to support research projects in drug discovery. This challenging and diverse position will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Setting up phage display technology lab/instruments/reagent preparation, including high quality helper phage and library phage
  • Performing phage display selection from DARPin libraries
  • Library design, cloning and quality control
  • Solid understanding of the library/display section algorithm and ability to troubleshoot
  • Learning and performing ribosome display based DARPin selection
  • Support Lead Generation team with both selection methodologies (phage AND ribosome display)
  • Development and performance of various assays, including high-throughput screening
  • Independent planning, performing and evaluation of own project-related experiments, including protein expression, purification, and characterization by a variety of different methods: e.g., ELISA, SDS-PAGE, UV-spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatography
  • Operation, administration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, as well as planning and organization of the laboratory’s day-to-day life, including inventory and consumption material and database work
  • Data processing and interpretation as well as documentation of research findings
  • Summarizing data packages and presenting them to the project team for discussion;

 For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual bringing along: Educational background

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant biological subject
  • 3+ experience with phage display selection from libraries
  • 3+ years of work in biopharmaceutical industrial setting
  • Solid in cloning from design to practice 
  • Experience in library design, cloning and quality control
  • Technical experience in standard methods of modern biochemistry & molecular biology, including high-throughput screening
  • Expertise in protein expression and purification
  • Experience with ELISA, SDS-Page, UV-spectroscopy, size exclusion chromatograph
  • Solid background in Data Analysis, Processing and Documentation
  • Experience with the standard cellular-based assays is a plus
  • Managerial experience
  • Experience in leading small teams is an asset
  • Proficiency in English (verbally/in writing)
  • Every further European language is an asset, especially German
  • od kledge of Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • od communication and presentation skills
  • Concise and accurate working skills and quality awareness
  • Independent and flexible working engagement - motivated and curious to learn & grow with new tasks.
