About the job:
Quality Control Microbiology Basel is a team of 20 employees, divided into a laboratory team and a specialist team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and evaluating bioburden tests and microbial counts (e.g., of packaging materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, and products).
We are seeking support for the laboratory team for a variety of tasks. This team is organizationally part of QC Kaiseraugst but is based in Basel. We support the manufacturing plants in Basel and Kaiseraugst with the analysis of various microbiological samples. We also work closely with the Development department in Basel, processing a range of microbiological samples there as well.
The perfect candidate will have completed vocational training as a biological laboratory technician or food technologist and possess at least two years of solid practical experience in microbiological quality control, particularly in determining microbiological counts. Thanks to your experience in a GMP environment, you will guarantee precise, independent documentation and the professional creation of SOPs to ensure the highest product quality. As a team-oriented individual, you also possess the necessary flexibility for occasional weekend shifts and fluent German skills for seamless documentation.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Conducting bioburden tests for product releases
- Performing microbial counts for product and raw material releases
- GMP-compliant documentation of work and results
- Creating and revising GMP-relevant documents and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Reduced work hours on weekends and holidays (once per month)
Must Haves:
- Completed vocational training as a biological laboratory technician, food technologist, or equivalent qualification
- 2 years of practical experience in a microbiological environment (preferably microbial counting)
- 2 years of experience in a GMP environment, as well as a clean, precise, and independent work style
- Responsible, team-oriented, and flexible work style
- Good computer skills (MS Office) and fluency in German (written and spoken)
- Willingness to work reduced hours on weekends and holidays (approximately once per month)
- Fluency in German (written and spoken)
