CSO (Chief Scientific Officer)
Location: Canton Bern
Start date: Q1 2026

Your responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Clinical Science team, including Senior Scientific Directors, Heads of Clinical Development, and Medical Science Liaisons.
• Actively participate as a member of the Management Board, reporting directly to the CEO.
• Drive the translation of research projects into clinical trials, from protocol development through to initiation in Switzerland.
• Oversee the development and execution of Investigator-Initiated Trials in Oncology across Switzerland.
• Foster and expand national and international research collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotech partners, international research groups, and national platforms.
• Represent the institute at leading oncology conferences and build strong relationships within the research community.
• Develop new partnerships with industry and funding bodies, contribute to grant applications and fundraising efforts.
• Translate complex research into impactful messages for various stakeholders, including policymakers and the public.

Your Background

• PhD degree in relevant scientific field - MD degree, an asset.
• Proven leadership experience with direct reports and a strong track record in oncology/hematology, preferably with experience in Investigator Initiated Trials.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing and managing clinical trials within Switzerland.
• Knowledge of collaboration in public health, industry, and development/research settings.
• Fluent in English, with proficiency in German and/or French.
