Key responsibilitiesDrive disease area strategy execution and performance management across the region, ensuring country plans are aligned with regional and international priorities.Provide disease area input into International Brand Strategy forums and share regional insights on customer needs, market evolution and competitive dynamics.Monitor implementation of brand strategies across countries, including regular performance reviews, country deep dives and feedback loops with regional and international teams.Lead and support launch readiness activities across priority markets, including Launch Readiness Reviews, action planning and readiness gap management.Strengthen competitive excellence by identifying opportunities to improve market leadership, address adoption barriers and support effective execution in evolving treatment landscapes.Drive consistent commercial excellence across the region, including effective use of customer engagement insights, segmentation, coverage planning, omnichannel execution and field performance KPIs.Partner with regional Medical, Value & Access, Regulatory, Execution Excellence and country commercial teams to align market-shaping, stakeholder engagement and evidence-generation priorities.Support portfolio planning, investment oversight, budget monitoring and preparation of business cases or planning materials for the assigned disease area.Build disease area expertise across country teams by sharing best practices, strengthening capabilities and contributing to a collaborative, performance-oriented culture.Contribute to talent development across the disease area by identifying key talent, supporting development plans and fostering a strong leadership community. Essential RequirementsUniversity degree in science, business or a related discipline.Fluent English.8–10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on commercial roles.Prior commercial country leadership experience, for example as Therapeutic Area Head, Commercial Portfolio Head, Execution Excellence Head, Marketing & Sales Head or an equivalent commercial leadership role.Proven experience in brand strategy development, execution and performance management at country level.Hands-on experience supporting product launches, lifecycle management and/or market development activities.Strong ability to interpret market, performance and financial data to support decision-making.Demonstrated experience working effectively in matrix environments, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills. Desirable RequirementsExperience in neuroscience, rare diseases and/or highly competitive therapeutic areas.Strong understanding of healthcare systems and market dynamics in larger, complex markets. Benefits & RewardsAt Novartis, we’re committed to reimagining medicine together — and rewarding the people who make it happen. Expected Annual Base Salary Range for role: 154,700.00 - 221,000.00 - 287,300.00 CHF AnnualThe base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience, in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and, upon joining Novartis, will be reviewed periodically.In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.Long-term equity awards granted at group level may also be part of your package.
