The Glencore Graduate Programme

The Graduate Programme at our global headquarters aims at developing the next generation of Glencore professionals. Our programme offers successful graduates the opportunity to work with different functions within the business and to advance their career within a performance-driven culture.

Our graduates work directly with industry experts, are given real responsibility and as a result gain a variety of skills. Additionally, graduates receive training on topics like trading, traffic, finance, business analytics, networking and public speaking.

All graduates are assigned a mentor to guide them through their development at Glencore. Our mentoring programme supports new joiners in finding new experiences and to develop their understanding and bringing new perspectives to the company.

Our Commercial Graduate Programme

Based within our dynamic trading environment, our programmes are structured to bring out the very best in you and give you with the opportunity to develop a commercial mindset, working with the very best people in the industry.

You will have direct exposure on the trading floor and will be trusted with individual responsibility to deliver real results.

The commercial programme is designed to develop your commercial standards and test your resilience as a partner, support and be a key member of the team.

Entrepreneurial, and strong communication are core success factors to achieve positive outcomes or solutions and business drivers.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• We are looking for students who are currently enrolled at or have recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in engineering, data, economics, or a renewable energy related field, and are capable of starting in 2027.
• An interest in the energy industry and a solid understanding of trading and logistics.
• You are proficient in Excel, Power BI and/or Python.
• You are a proactive, communicative and team-oriented.
• You are a resilient, and trustworthy with a high degree of integrity.
• You have excellent communication skills in English.
• You have a strong attention to detail and a robust analytical mindset.
• You have the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• You have a positive attitude and are eager to learn and grow in a demanding environment.
• You have a strong desire to improve and are willing to challenge the status quo.
• You have a solid understanding of the energy transition and a genuine interest in current commodity markets.
• You must have the right to work in the EU or hold a Swiss work permit.
