About this role

1. Conduct one-time training needs assessments and prepare training materials for Farmer Trainers (FTs) and farmers (February–March 2025) • Conduct one training needs assessment for Farmer Trainers and farmers in the project areas. • Prepare one training module for Farmer Trainers (FTs) and farmers. 2. Improved capacity of 10 Farmer Trainers and farmers on GAP (April–December 2026) • Ten (10) Farmer Trainers and at least 100 farmers trained in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), post-harvest handling, and modern extension approaches. 3. Conduct regular field monitoring and inspections to evaluate the implementation performance of 10 Farmer Trainers (April–December 2026) • Conduct monthly field monitoring and inspection activities to evaluate the FTs’ activity plans and implementation. • All data entries reviewed, validated, and integrated into the digital dashboard system. 4. Conduct regular field monitoring and inspections to identify, prevent, and manage coffee pests and diseases at the farm level (April–December 2026) • Conduct IPM practices and inspections two times a year in the project sites. 5. Organize experience-sharing events for FTs, farmers, and government officials to promote best practices in coffee farming (June–December 2026) • Two (2) experience-sharing events organized for FTs and selected farmers. • Events conducted at model farms to promote peer learning and practical knowledge exchange. 6. Support smallholder farmers (SHFs) to develop and implement income-generating activities (IGAs) alongside coffee farming (May–September 2026) • Farmer Trainers and farmers advised and supported to initiate diversified income-generating activities alongside coffee farming (at least one IGA). 7. Support one stakeholder coordination workshop activity in the target areas (November 2025) • Effective liaison maintained with local government bodies to replicate best practices. • Coordination supports the smooth implementation of project activities in the respective municipalities. 8. One (1) new demonstration site established to support women and youth and to scale up the adoption of best practices in the project areas (September–December 2026) • One (1) new gender- and youth-responsive demonstration site established and operational. • Ten (10) existing demonstration sites maintained and operational in the Jimma zones. • Adoption of identified best practices increased by at least 10% among farmers engaged in demonstration sites 9. Conduct monitoring and evaluation of farmers’ training outcomes once a year (November–December 2026) • Dashboard used to analyze trends, monitor farmer engagement, and assess project impact. 10. Monitor adoption of best practices by farmers using the Power BI digital dashboard set up by the project (February–December 2026) • Provide technical training to the 10 FTs on mobile reporting tools and digital dashboards. 11. Coffee Coordinators’ timely project reporting (February–December 2026) • Submit biweekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports on time.
