About this role

Within the Global Drug Product Development function in our new center, we are looking for a highly motivated (senior) technician with practical experience in a chemical, biological or biotech laboratory. She or he will work together with other scientists within the team, as well as analytical scientists, throughout all steps of drug product development.

Your role:

Reporting to DP Development manager in the Early-Phase Drug Product Development unit, you have the opportunity to contribute to the roll-out of high-tech CMC development laboratories in the center and contribute to biotech drug product development.

You will collaborate with and support scientists, experts and analysts during execution of drug product development studies, including formulation development, process development, stability studies, (pre)clinical administration simulation studies and analytics. Under the supervision of the manager and senior colleagues, you will be assigned technical tasks to support ongoing projects. In addition to this, you will be tasked other activities to support efficiency in the labs and operational excellence, such as inventory management, oversight of laboratory cleanliness status and interaction with support functions.

  • Execution of tasks assigned by the manager or senior colleagues, in the framework of development studies of several drug product projects. These will include, such as preparation of samples, buffers and other materials
  • Execution of analytical activities, such as compendial methods. Occasionally, and depending on your current expertise, more complex analytics can be assigned (e.g. chromatography, electrophoresis)
  • Oversight of laboratory efficiency and status: 6S, Kanban, inventory management, material/sample shipment and reception, interactions with support functions (e.g. warehouse, logistic and facility management).
  • You are accountable for the quality and reliability of own work. You actively seek, share and re-apply knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology or related field
  • Previous experience in a chemical or biological laboratory, with hands-on experience
  • Preferred hands-on experience with laboratory information systems, digital tools and lean principles
  • Proactive mindset for identifying new tools & technologies, new improvement opportunities and anticipating future challenges
  • Good command of English to efficiently interact with international team members; French is a plus
