Plant Engineer
About this role
As Plant Engineer – Utilities, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering partial and small projects, including process engineering calculations and technical optimizations within the plant
Performing feasibility studies for new installations or conversion of existing plants (cost estimates, timelines, and functional evaluations)
Conducting risk analyses, operational tests, conversions, and providing engineering support within the department
Ensuring maintenance activities are carried out safely, economically, and efficiently, while maintaining high levels of plant availability
Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external authorities where required
Using SAP to place orders, perform technical-commercial evaluations, and support capacity planning to optimize plant and personnel deployment
Supporting budget monitoring for maintenance, modifications, and investments within your area of responsibility
Updating and verifying technical documentation such as PFDs/flowcharts, zoning & installation plans, spare parts lists, and organizational changes in line with GMP standards
Supporting the training and knowledge transfer of plant teams and workshop personnel in areas such as process & plant understanding, safety, hygiene, environment, quality, and cGMP compliance
To be successful in this position, you bring:
A university degree in Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Process Engineering (or related field), or equivalent relevant experience
(Technical college degree FH/HF will also be considered)Experience in biotech/pharma production (strong advantage)
Good knowledge of GMP requirements and working in a regulated environment
Experience with COMOS (Plant Engineering Software) and SAP is a plus
A structured, well-organized and reliable way of working
Strong problem-solving mindset and openness to new insights
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders
German language skills are required
Good English skills are an advantage
