About this role
For our client, an international company based in Visp, we are looking for a
Plant Engineer - Utilities.
The Plant Engineer ensures the high availability and efficiency of utility systems. This role bridges the gap between technical planning and operational excellence, managing small-scale projects and maintenance strategies while ensuring strict compliance with safety and quality standards.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Project Management: Planning and completing partial and small-scale projects, including process engineering calculations and optimizations within the plant.
Feasibility & Analysis: Conducting feasibility studies for new plants or the conversion of existing facilities, including cost estimations, timelines, and functional assessments.
Operational Oversight: Performing risk analyses, operational tests, and conversions while providing technical support within the department.
Maintenance & Availability: Ensuring maintenance is carried out expertly and economically to maintain plant availability; collaborating closely with regulatory authorities.
Systems & Administration: Utilizing SAP for placing orders, conducting technical-commercial evaluations, and planning capacity to optimize plant and personnel deployment.
Budgetary Control: Collaborating in the monitoring and adherence to budgets for maintenance, conversions, and investments within the assigned area.
Compliance & Documentation: Updating and verifying plant documentation (e.g., flow charts, P&IDs, zone/installation plans, and parts lists) in accordance with GMP standards.
Knowledge Transfer: Supporting the training of plant teams and workshop personnel regarding process/plant knowledge, safety, hygiene, environment, and quality (cGMP).
Qualifications:
Education: University degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering, or a related field. Graduates from Technical Colleges (FH/HF) are also encouraged to apply.
Experience: Prior experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical production environments is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Good knowledge of GMP guidelines and proficiency in COMOS (Plant Engineering Software) and SAP is a significant advantage.
Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and flexibly within a collaborative team environment. You possess a structured, focused, and well-organized work style.
Mindset: Open to new insights, innovative thinking, and a strong commitment to solution-oriented problem-solving.
Languages: German language skills are required. Good English language skills are considered a strong advantage.
