  • Home Office: Hybrid working options (max. 1 day per week)

  • Travel: No travel required

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Concept Evaluation & Parameter Determination: Analyze and evaluate new technologies through testing. Utilize fluidic and physical expertise to define and verify parameter settings, ensuring optimal pipetting performance for specific applications.

  • Liquid Handling Solution Development: Support the technical implementation of liquid handling solutions within IVD product development. Collaborate with Design Engineers using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to optimize component designs from a fluidics perspective, validating simulations through experiments.

  • Feasibility Studies: Initiate, lead, and execute feasibility studies in the field of liquid handling to satisfy technical requirements and mitigate design risks.

  • Test Bench Development: Define required test benches for feasibility studies and parameter determination. Work alongside mechanical, electronic, and software engineers to commission test stands and program necessary software workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements (Must-Haves)
  • Education: Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a strong focus or specialization in Fluid Dynamics.

  • CFD Expertise: 1–3 years of hands-on experience using CFD software and simulation techniques to model complex fluidic flows (including grid generation, simulation execution, and post-processing).

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical capabilities combined with an independent, structured approach to analyzing and resolving complex engineering problems.

  • Experimental Fluid Dynamics: Demonstrated passion for hands-on experimental fluid dynamics and building/operating test setups to validate theoretical models and verify performance.

  • Programming & Modern Tool Usage: Proven ability to program complex test workflows using Python and C#, with experience leveraging modern AI development tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude Code) to accelerate solutions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong desire to work within international, cross-functional teams and actively engage with domain experts.
