Each year, music festivals take place across the continent for fans to come together and share the music while enjoying a fantastic day out or weekend away. And every year, more appear.

1. Tomorrowland, Belgium

Considered one of the best electronic music shows on the planet, Tomorrowland is on the list of every music lover. It is famous for its insane lineups, incredible show staging, and fabulous crowd. It takes place every year in July in Flanders in Belgium.

2. Glastonbury, UK

Glastonbury is one of the world’s most famous performing arts festivals, and it is universally popular because it doesn't cater to any one specific music genre or taste. The exclusive festival takes place in the southwest of England in June, with over 200.000 people in attendance every year. Its fame and prestige ensure that its lineup is full of big hitters every year.

3. AMF, the Netherlands

AMF, also known as Amsterdam Music Festival, is a night in October in Amsterdam, when the biggest names in music gather for an unforgettable night. Now considered EDM’s main event, it has been taking place in the Johan Cruijff Arena, the biggest stadium in the Dutch capital, since 2014. The lineup consists of the hottest DJs, speakers turned up to the max, magnificent stage production, and over 70.000 fans.

4. Time Warp, Germany

This annual electronic music festival takes place in Mannheim, Germany, with a stellar lineup of renowned DJs. Time Warp features techno music from all around the world, and has been a legend of EDM entertainment since the mid-90s.

5. Openair Frauenfeld, Switzerland

The largest open-air and hip-hop festival in Switzerland, Openair Frauenfeld has been held in the Swiss city since 1985. With over 100.000 attendees annually, this festival promises top hip-hop artists and an amazing venue. The festival grounds are located on a protected nature reserve with camping and day ticket options.

6. Rock en Seine, France

Rock en Seine is a three-day rock music festival that takes place at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, just west of Paris. It is one of France’s most famous festivals and it is perfect for lovers of all types of music, with over 40.000 people attending annually.

7. Exit Festival, Serbia

This summer festival is held at the Petrovaradin Fortress in Serbia for four days in July and is one of the hottest festivals in Europe. With stunning stage setups and impressive performances from acts covering numerous genres including rock, techno, EDM, metal, hip-hop, reggae, punk, and many more, Exit Festival is one you don't want to miss.

8. Sziget Festival, Hungary

Sziget Festival is a magical music festival that takes place in Budapest at the end of summer each year, turning the island of Obuda into a multi-genre musical heaven. Over 550.000 festival-goers rush to the marvellous Danube to experience pop, rock, and indie music like never before. With over 1.000 performances each year, it is easily one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe.
