Zurich International School: An education that children value for life

The lessons that we learn as children stay with us for life.

Zurich International School (ZIS) is a leading non-profit day school for local and expat children aged three to 18. The primary language used is English, and there is an additional bilingual English/German pathway for children aged between three and 10.

At ZIS, they pride themselves on providing an education that gives children a lifelong love of learning. That’s something that will help them pursue a life of achievement with confidence.

It's all about encouraging them to challenge themselves, to connect with people from different backgrounds, and to push themselves to take risks and trust in their abilities. To succeed at this, ZIS knows how important it is to see the person, as well as the learner.

An internationally excellent curriculum

ZIS has developed a curriculum that welcomes all students and gives them the freedom to grow.

Their ability to provide outstanding education is built on a foundation of exceptional teaching, a strong focus on both STEM subjects and the arts, and a broad curriculum - including the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Advanced Placements courses. It’s an approach that opens doors to the world’s most prestigious universities.

Adaptable teaching

Even with their great results, they're most proud of how they deliver this education. When they challenge their students, they do so by getting them to experiment and explore, not by extinguishing their spark.

Highly qualified teachers work hard to connect each student to a subject and find the angle that brings it to life for them. That’s an approach which helps learning stick and is transferable to wherever they may go next.

Well-being and development

School is about preparation for life as well as exams. The Zurich International School has a campus environment that allows students to feel safe and supported. Their well-being is a top priority, and students are helped to learn habits and approaches that can help them deal with life’s challenges.

Their education focuses on character as well as achievement, and prizes qualities such as empathy, leadership, teamwork, resilience, patience and passion.

Following their passions

The school also takes the time to help students discover their true passions. The in-and-out-of-school activities expose students to a broad range of pursuits, so they can discover a hobby or career that could enrich their whole life.

They are encouraged to be open to new challenges and experiences, even ones that feel daunting, and to get value from things even if they do not excel at them.

Giving students the tools they need

Zurich International School provides their students with the resources they need to explore their potential, including investing in new state-of-the-art facilities that allow students to connect and learn on two purpose-built campuses. You can explore these at your convenience with their handy online, virtual campus tour.

However, the school doesn't exist in a bubble - the students are part of a safe community, but also encouraged to make a difference with sustainable, hands-on activities that benefit the wider area and encourage a global perspective.

A school for life

The teachers are confident in their approach to education, but learning is a lifelong process for all of us. The school is constantly exploring new ways to improve and grow. The students, staff and families that make up the ZIS community all have a stake in their success and have something to offer to help us learn, evolve, and expand.

Imagine a school where your children come home excited about learning. Imagine a school where they discover a passion that becomes a calling. Imagine a school that feels like home and gives your children the confidence to explore the world.

That’s Zurich International School.
