For our client, an international clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapies, we are currently looking for a 

Research Associate/Technician in Molecular Biology 
Start date: Beginning of February
Duration: 3 months (paternity leave cover)
Location: Basel

Your Tasks:

  • In collaboration with the biology sub-team, you will thoughtfully take over responsibilities during a colleague's paternity leave, including:
  • Small Molecule Screening: Execution of testing using diverse assay formats.
  • Cell Biology: Managing mammalian cell cultures (of which primary and stem cells); proficiency in phenotypic assays (viability, imaging, proliferation).
  • Molecular Biology: Performing end-to-end molecular workflows, including RNA/DNA isolation, electrophoresis, and RT-(q)PCR.
  • Biochemistry: Hands-on experience with protein extraction and immunoblotting.
  • Adhering strictly to safety guidelines and maintaining an orderly work environment.

Your Background

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Molecular Biology, with prior experience in a similar position, ideally within an industrial setting.
  • A foundational understanding of molecular biology and cellular assay approaches.
  • Proactive, solution-driven professional with exceptional planning skills and a strong aptitude for collaborative teamwork.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency with GraphPad Prism
