For our client, an international company based in Elsau, we are looking for a dedicated Automation Engineer (f/m/d).
We represent a global leader in manufacturing exhaust aftertreatment systems for high-horsepower engines in both mobile and stationary operations. Their applications span a wide range, from marine engines with an output of 200kW up to massive power plant engines generating 20MW. In addition, our client is at the forefront of developing innovative systems specifically designed for the use of alternative fuels such as methanol, hydrogen, and ammonia. Your Responsibilities:
- Development and programming of control software on B&R platforms (and potentially other systems)
- Designing software architecture and conceptualizing and developing software modules
- Developing and implementing process control and monitoring functionalities, including visualizations
- Providing project support for customer projects and customized solutions
- Defining and implementing modern software development processes (DevOps) and performing functionality tests (in-house, automated, or at customer sites)
- Using software management systems (e.g., GIT)
- Planning project-specific Ethernet networks
- Selecting and evaluating hardware components for control and monitoring strategies
- Supporting field technicians and application engineers with automation-related topics
- Travel activity: approximately 10%
Your Qualifications:
- Successfully completed higher education in automation technology or software engineering (HF/FH/University)
- Solid knowledge of PLC development environments, preferably B&R Automation Studio
- Experience in machine control programming and product development
- Proficiency in ST and C programming; ideally experience with object-oriented programming
- Experience with communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, TCP, OPC-UA, RS485)
- Interest in process engineering applications
- Motivated, flexible team player with a high level of independence
- 2–5 years of professional experience in a comparable environment
- Advanced German and English skills, both written and spoken
