Which jobs in Switzerland are in the highest demand? To help budding job-seekers, LinkedIn has compiled its annual list of trending jobs; here’s what Swiss companies are looking for in 2025:

LinkedIn's Trending Jobs of 2025

To find out which roles are most sought after, LinkedIn analysed the millions of new jobs its users took up between the beginning of 2022 and the end of July 2024. They then used this to reveal which 15 jobs have seen the biggest growth in the last three years.

Positions had to meet several criteria to be included in the ranking, and internships, voluntary positions and student jobs were not considered. For convenience, the ranking also combined similar roles - machine learning engineer and AI specialist were combined into "AI engineer", for example.

For Switzerland, LinkedIn noted that alongside positions in industries like banking, insurance and finance, companies are increasingly looking for workers who can help navigate and take advantage of the revolution in artificial intelligence. They argued that those who are happy and engaged in adapting to these new tools “are best positioned for professional success”.

Which jobs are the most sought after?

This year, the most in-demand job in Switzerland is treasury manager. As the name suggests, the role involves managing the financial assets of a company, including cash flow, investments and managing risk. Applicants typically have seven years of experience under their belts, with most positions being offered in Zurich, Lausanne and Lucerne.

The role was followed by specialists in cybersecurity, who are most needed in Zurich, Bern and Lugano. Rounding out the top three were accountants in Zurich, Geneva and Lausanne. Interestingly, accountancy was the first role where women made up a majority of workers.

While treasury managers and cybersecurity whizzes have seen the biggest boom in demand, data suggests that employees of all kinds will be needed to fill Switzerland’s labour shortage. Though the Swiss population continues to grow at rates unseen since the 1960s, the Employers’ Association still predicts the country will be short of 460.000 workers by 2035.

In all, here are the 10 most trending jobs in Switzerland for 2025:

  1. Treasury Manager

  3. Accountant
  4. Human Resource Specialist
  5. Travel Advisor
  6. Chief Information Security Officer
