In-demand jobs in Switzerland: Which roles have the highest salaries?

By Jan de Boer

A new report released by Blick and Indeed has revealed which in-demand jobs in Switzerland offer the highest salaries. Amid continued staff shortages, the study found that most workers in sought-after positions can expect good wages for their labour.

High demand for workers leads to higher wages in Switzerland

To supplement its list of the most in-demand jobs in Switzerland, Indeed analysed which of the sought-after roles offer the highest wages. To do this, the company used its database to find which 25 jobs have seen the biggest rise in demand between 2021 and 2024. They then calculated the median salary for each role.

The report comes as Swiss companies continue to struggle to find new employees. With even more acute shortages on the horizon, many firms are boosting salaries and improving working hours and bonuses to try and compete for new employees.

Which in-demand jobs pay the highest salary?

As it stands, the highest paid of the most-in-demand jobs are managers in Swiss banks and the wider financial sector. Median salaries in the role were calculated to be 129.590 francs a year.

In a sign that Switzerland's financial sector remains one of its key strengths, managers were followed by tax and security consultants with a median wage of 125.000 francs. Mirroring the rise of more advanced technology and online threats, cybersecurity engineers are both in-demand and well-paid, with median annual salaries of 122.000 francs.
