Uber has shared its first annual review for Switzerland, providing an overview of some interesting facts and figures about Uber users in the alpine nation in 2025.
Bern, Lucerne and St. Gallen used Uber the most between 10pm and 4am
Launching in Switzerland in 2013, popular US transport app Uber has been expanding its offering throughout the country in recent years. So much so that the app has now released its first “Uber Atlas”, providing an overview of trips taken in Switzerland in 2025.
Let’s take a look at some of the figures reported by Blick. One thing is for sure: the people who used Uber in Switzerland had quite the global reach. In 2025, Uber users came from 188 countries across the world.
The metropolitan Swiss cities of Basel, Geneva and Zurich were up the earliest, as the most Uber rides occurred there between 5am and 8am. In contrast, Bern, Lucerne and St. Gallen were the places that used Uber the most between 10pm and 4am.
And the biggest Uber fan? A Zurich resident! Someone in the canton used Uber for 1.260 journeys. In second place was someone from Vaud who took 861 Uber rides and in third place was someone from Geneva who used Uber 764 times in 2025.
Longest Uber journey in Switzerland from Basel to Belleville, France
The longest Uber journey from Switzerland covered 323 kilometres, transporting someone from Basel to Belleville, France. Lugano to Venice was the second-longest journey, covering 318 kilometres, and Lucerne to Innsbruck was the third, spanning 314 kilometres. Quite the international travellers!
Within Switzerland, train stations, airports, hotels and universities were the most popular destinations to ask for an Uber ride to. And on average, Uber users had to wait 4 minutes and 36 seconds for a ride. The wait time was shortest in Lucerne and longest in Geneva.
The biggest Uber tip was from a generous user in Geneva, who gave 151 Swiss francs. According to the Uber Atlas, cantons Vaud, Ticino and Fribourg tipped the least while Bern, Lucerne and Valais tipped the most.
