SWISS has launched a new student fare, offering discounted ticket prices and benefits to anyone who is studying and flying long-haul on certain routes.

SWISS offers discounts and extra benefits for students

Switzerland is often deemed an attractive country to study in, praised for its good job prospects, quality of life and well-recognised universities like ETH Zurich, often ranked as the best in Europe

Now students studying in Switzerland are in for another perk as SWISS has launched a new student fare. Prospective travellers can now book economy-class tickets with a student discount on many long-haul flights.

Discounted student tickets include some extra benefits, which are not included in a regular economy ticket. These perks include a two 23kg checked bag limit, reduced cancellation fees and the ability to make changes to a booking without charge.

Some restrictions on new SWISS student fare

For students looking to save some pennies with the new SWISS student fare, there are some restrictions. Tickets can only be booked in economy class and cannot be used on flights from Europe to the US, Canada, Mexico and Japan, and also some flights within Europe.

Potential travellers will need to use a student ID to book the new ticket class. The student offer is available on all airlines in the Lufthansa Group, such as Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines and ITA Airways. Visit the SWISS website for more information.
