Position Overview: The Planner/Buyer is a crucial role within our organization, focused on ensuring the optimal procurement of raw materials, components, and related supplies necessary for efficient production. This position involves a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication to ensure that procurement activities align with production needs, cost objectives, and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Comparative Analysis of Purchase Orders: Regularly compare and verify purchase orders against forecasted requirements for raw materials and components, ensuring adequate supplies for uninterrupted production.
  2. Market Trend Analysis: Review and analyze statistical data to identify buying trends and volumes. Establish price objectives and identify opportunities based on market trends.
  3. Supplier Evaluation and Selection: Investigate potential suppliers to evaluate their capability, service, cost, and overall suitability. This includes reviewing comparison charts and proposals, and negotiating prices for non-standard or larger orders.
  4. Quality and Cost Management: Analyze sources for raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and other necessary production items. Ensure these purchases meet both cost and quality standards.
  5. Supplier Performance Monitoring: Examine trends related to discrepancies in order quantity, price, and late deliveries to assess and report on supplier performance.
  6. Data Compilation and Analysis: Collect and analyze procurement-related data. This includes the scheduling and movement of materials and services, aiding in the forecasting process.
  7. Process Improvement Recommendations: Continuously seek opportunities to improve procurement processes. Make recommendations to management for enhancements or changes that could benefit the organization.
  8. Negotiation and Communication: Effectively negotiate with suppliers and maintain clear, professional communication to establish and maintain beneficial relationships.


  • Proven experience in a similar Planner/Buyer role.
