Senior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)


An Electrical & Mechanical Engineering BGE department is looking for a Senior Engineer Mechanics (f/m/d) to strengthen its interdisciplinary mechanics team. Join the team and help shape the development of the next generation of the Blood Gas & Electrolytes (BG/E) analyser. The position is based in Rotkreuz (Switzerland).

Your profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant industry experience 
  • Several years of experience in injection moulding/plastics technologies at expert level, preferably in functional consumables with focus on cost effective high volume production, ideally in a highly regulated industry.
  • Several years of experience in the development of complex medical systems and implementation of specific components such as pumps, valves, sensors, temperature control elements and other components.
  • Expertise in CAD for mechanical design (Solidworks preferred, combined with SAP), compliance with ISO 8015 / Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) for 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Affinity for a methodical and systematic approach to early stage product development and solid kledge of physics and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven success working in multidisciplinary teams and regulated environments.
  • Willingness to work in a fully agile and transparent environment.
  • Strong technical project management personality who can independently lead external development partners.
  • Project language is English (mandatory), German listening and reading skills are an advantage.


  • Taking responsibility and driving tasks in a matrix organised project with external development partners.
  • Participation in all phases of mechanical development from feasibility studies to development, design review, unit testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Participate in work package definition, estimation, planning and implementation in an agile environment with sprints.
  • Performing detailed engineering analyses, including tolerances, FMEA, FEA and DFx.
  • Providing technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Gathering and documenting stakeholder requirements leading to implementation.
